Ireland currently has a major issue with household waste. Irish homes generate a very large amount of waste per year, 361kg per person, compared to the European average 293kg. On top of that, how this waste is disposed of needs vast improvement. Using statistics from the Enviromental Protection Agency, the graphics below shows the breakdown of waste found in household kerbside waste bins per person in 2023. Click the different bins to see what waste is put in each bin.
